Western Digital WD_BLACK SN8100 NVMe SSD 2TB, M.2 2280 / M-Key / PCIe 5.0 x4, Kühlkörper

The WD Black SN8100 is Sandisk's first PCI-Express 5.0 SSD, built using the recent Silicon Motion SM2508 controller, which is designed for efficiency and thus reduced thermal output. Previously, WD used their own in-house controllers for their SSDs, but they have now switched to the SM2508. We've seen this controller before on several reviews, like the Crucial T710, Kingston Fury Renegade, Lexar NM1090 and Acer Predator GM9000. Several other drives using the SM2508 have also been announced recently, and we'll be reviewing many of them in the future.

SanDisk’s WD_BLACK SN8100 is blazing fast. We tested it against top Gen5 SSDs—and it might just be our new favorite consumer drive.
