Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 512GB Phantom Black

It's still the best foldable on the market, but most of the new improvements fail to make an major impact.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a worthy successor to the Z Fold 4, bringing a flatter and lighter profile to an otherwise-familiar foldable formula. It's got ample power, versatility, and high-quality components and materials. But the same-as-last-year photography and narrow cover screen don't hold up well against the much wider Pixel Fold.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the best foldable phone for those looking for a phone and tablet in one and are willing to pay a steep price. The new Flex hinge, thinner and lighter design and better multitasking are all welcome upgrades. You also get better performance and longer battery life, but this is an iterative upgrade for sure and the front display is still narrow.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a minor step forward for Samsung's most expensive smartphone. It keeps most of what worked on last year's model, while closing the gap between its two halves for a lighter, thinner chassis. Newcomers will love Samsung's most refined foldable yet, but with more competition than ever, it's hard not to wish for more out of the Z Fold 5.

The futuristic folding Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is thinner, lighter, and more powerful than ever before. It's the best big-screen folding smartphone you can buy.

Samsung brings incremental improvements to a unique phone that unfolds into an amazing tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 can best be described as an iterative upgrade. Sure, it fixes long-time issues with the Fold series by getting rid of the gap and impressive software support, but it’s near-identical in most other areas, making the £100/$150 price hike a particularly hard pill to swallow.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is better than ever, the tweak in design making this phone fold better and feel better. In some ways this is an iterative update of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but it's clear that if you're after a book-type folding phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the one to choose.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a very good folding phone but it’s still a niche, expensive device. Samsung’s foldable software impresses, but the cameras are disappointing.
