Resident Evil Requiem (Xbox One/SX)

Resident Evil Requiem works best in the balance between the two characters, where fear and confidence alternate and create a sense of forward movement. A great start for a newcomer to the series and a nostalgic return to the roots in Raccoon City

With Requiem, Capcom refines its Resident Evil formula to its best parts, but it sometimes relies too much on past triumphs.

Capcom marks Resident Evil's 30th anniversary with a stellar return that's both a masterful bit of suffocating horror and a nostalgic, fan-thrilling victory lap for the legendary series.

Resident Evil Requiem is a superb entry in the series and feels like a ‘best of’ at times with the persistent Easter eggs, references, and gameplay callbacks to the full range of earlier games. There is a vast amount of wider lore for fans of that part of Capcom’s legendary titles, but even newcomers will be caught up in the narrative and balls to the wall gameplay.
