Metro Exodus - Complete Edition (Xbox One/SX)

I've said it before: I'll take flawed-but-interesting over polished-but-generic every single time, and Metro has long epitomized that belief for me. Sure, Metro Exodus is rough around the edges, there's no disputing that. I was annoyed having to replay that first two hours, and there are countless ways I think Exodus could be improved - not least of which is the dialogue delivery.

You may miss the mystery and intrigue of the previous games, but Exodus puts together a charismatic crew of friends and family that you'll want to follow to the ends of the earth.

Metro Exodus brings its survival horror to the surface without sacrificing any of the series’ signature tension.

Metro Exodus is a tour-de-force in apocalyptic exploration. It offers a rich, evolving world, brought to life with stunning visuals, immersive sound and ghastly creatures. These thrills and chills are irritatingly tempered with menial tasks, poor voice acting, dull stealth and a soulless hero, all of which prevent Metro Exodus from achieving its true potential.

Metro Exodus mostly succeeds in its ambitions, making it easy to recommend to both newcomers and series fans alike.

Metro Exodus is a work of art; from the concept to design and gameplay, it ticks all boxes. It has an emotional campaign, various open-world environments full of unique flora, fauna and places of interest to explore, fantastic audio design and satisfying gunplay. What more could you want from a tight narrative-driven first-person shooter?
