Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint - Gold Edition (Xbox One/SX)

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a game for fans of the series. If you can look past a lot of its flaws and just want a military third-person shooter this is for you. Otherwise, you’re in no shortage of great games this fall.

Breakpoint offers initial fun following Ubisoft's open-world structure as gospel, but a lack of variety and conflicting pieces leave it devoid of personality.

There's an entertaining experience buried somewhere under the bloat and I had some fun at times in the game – I love infiltrating bases, but everything surrounding that is a pain. Maybe, just maybe, not every game needs to be open world? Maybe not every game needs a gear score? Sometimes simplicity is key.

Ubisoft's newest open-world experience struggles to deliver reliable combat and interesting things to do.

To put it bluntly, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is likely the most disappointing release of 2019.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a confused mishmash of disparate ideas that struggle to coalesce in an enjoyable way.

There's an incredible tactical shooter hidden here, but Ghost Recon Breakpoint seems to go out of its way to be deeply frustrating wherever possible.
