Riders Republic - Gold Edition (PS4)

Even though I liked the racing in Riders Republic, overall, I can't say I enjoyed my time with it. It's a missed opportunity of a game, focusing on all the wrong things, making for an experience worth skipping.

Riders Republic is a thrilling, approachable, and incredibly varied extreme sports game, featuring an awe-inspiring open world that impresses with both its scale and diversity. There's nothing else quite like it, and while it's too talkative for its own good, there's a sprightly energy to the whole thing that makes it easy to recommend for anyone seeking an exciting adventure.

Pros: Authentic environments and crazy ambiance, Wide Variaty of chaotic sports to enjoy, experiencing each sport for the first time is an adrenaline rush, 64person multiplayer tirathlons are a wild ride Cons: commentary and dialogue is cringy, controls feel stuck between realistic and extreme, adrenaline wears off eventually

Riders Republic is a game players can effortlessly lose themselves in, even if the gameplay itself is pretty shallow. The endless barrage of events populating the world map become less exciting over time, resembling a shopping list rather than milestones in your ascension to extreme sports godhood. If you’re still keen to take the plunge, make sure you have a posse ready to party up with.

It’s not every day that we get an extreme sports game, particularly one on this scale. The developers have kinks to work out, but Riders Republic is already in a pretty good place.
