Auch die Echtzeitüberwachung der Spannungswerte in der mittlerweile funktionierenden Software ist durchaus sinnvoll. Bei der Stabilität der Spannungswerte hätten wir uns noch etwas mehr erwartet, wenn man bedenkt wie hoch der Preis ist, den MSI für das Netzteil aufruft. Die Spannungen liegen zwar alle noch innerhalb der Toleranz, das schaffen jedoch andere Hersteller ebenfalls zu einem etwas günstigeren Preis. Fairerweise muss jedoch gesagt werden, das während der gesamten Testphase die mittlerweile zwei Wochen dauert, keine Ausfälle, Reboots oder sonstige Abstürze aufgetreten sind, da eben alle Werte im grünen Bereich blieben. Und Features wie PCIE5 bzw. ATX3.0 Support sind momentan nicht bei vielen Netzteilen auf dem Markt zu finden. Auch wenn die meisten Nutzer keine 1300 Watt benötigen werden, ist das MSI MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 eines der besten ATX3-Netzteile, die wir bisher im Test hatten. Angesichts der Ausstattung ist auch der Preis von 340 Euro noch moderat, denn hier bekommt man ein erstklassiges Netzteil mit extrem vielen netten Features. Besonders gut hat uns gefallen, dass man über die 5 Rails tatsächlich die Verbrauchswerte der einzelnen Komponenten des PCs verfolgen kann und nicht nur den Verbrauch des gesamten PCs. Wer seinem Hardwarenerd-Drang folgen will, ein leistungsstarkes ATX3-Netzteil sucht und mit den kleinen Kritikpunkten leben kann, darf bedenkenlos zugreifen.

Featuring huge power delivery, 1300W is more than enough power for the most extreme power supplies, or flagship graphics cards such as the RTX 4090 Ti, with power to spare on top, and native cable support thanks to 12VHPWR, PCIe 5.0, and ATX 3.0. From my own testing, this PSU easily exceeded 1300W and delivered 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, and exceptionally clean power delivery consistently. Sure, it’s a bit more expensive than some other brands, but in this case, you really get what you pay for.

To summarize, the MSI MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 is a powerful PSU, very well made and with very good overall performance. Currently, its primary selling point is the ATX 3.0 compliance and the new 12VHPWR/PCIe 5.0 connector, which is in our opinion a necessity for anyone who is going to purchase a graphics card that uses it. While many older PSUs can handle the power requirements of such a card, there are frequent issues with the 12VHPWR adapters and it is counterintuitive to risk damage to a $1000+ card for the price of a great PSU.

MSI has a strong entry into the high-end PSU club with the MEG Ai1000P PCIe5. It usually takes years to be close to the top of my performance charts, but with CWT’s support, MSI managed to achieve this. It is impressive to see a platform reaching so close to Seasonic’s Prime Platinum unit, which some time ago was the reference for all other PSUs. Still, Corsair with the might RM1000x, and EVGA with the new SuperNOVA 1000 G7 remains at the top, but the difference is negligible. Nevertheless, none of the PSUs I have included in the charts of this review is ATX v3.0 ready. Only the Gigabyte UD1000GM PG5 comes with a 12+4 pin connector, but it fails to pass the corresponding ATX v3.0 tests.

MSI managed to release a PSU that takes the lead in my relative performance charts from the mighty Seasonic Prime Platinum 1000, and this says it all! Thanks to an advanced platform provided by Channel Well Technology, featuring digital controllers, the MEG Ai1000P PCIe 5 achieves high performance on all sections. Moreover, this unit is ATX v3.0 and PCIe 5.0 ready, and indeed it successfully passed all of my new transient response tests, where I have to load the PSU with transient loads that are double its max-rated-capacity. I recently heard that NVIDIA will ask PSU manufacturers to increase the maximum transient load from 200% to 235%, which is noteworthy.
