MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Suprim X 8G, 8GB GDDR6X, HDMI, 3x DP

I recently took a look at the RTX 3070 Ti and was impressed with its performance. But that was just with the Founders Edition card, what can the 3070 Ti do with a monster cooler and an overclocked? Well MSI sent over their RTX 3070 Ti SUPRIM X which is their flagship card design and the X indicates that it is also overclocked. So today I’m excited to see what Nvidia’s newest GPU is capable of when paired with MSI’s biggest and best card design. I was impressed with the SUPRIM 3080, will the 3070 Ti be the same?

Hot on the heels of our RTX 3080 Ti review, today we are back with a look at Nvidia’s RTX 3070 Ti. While the core-count has only slightly increased from the RTX 3070, the RTX 3070 Ti is able to deliver a 36% increase to memory bandwidth thanks to its use of GDDR6X memory, instead of the slower GDDR6 modules found on the original model, we put this new GPU through its paces to see what sort of performance it can offer.

MSI's GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Suprim X is the company's flagship RTX 3070 Ti that comes with a large overclock out of the box. Rated boost frequency is set to 1860 MHz, which is the 2nd highest available on the market. Only the Gigabyte AORUS Master with 1875 MHz is higher. However, rated clocks aren't everything. We've tested the Palit GameRock OC today, too, which is rated for 1845 MHz Boost. Palit has increased their card's power limit to 330 W, whereas MSI uses only 310 W, which holds the MSI card back. Overall, the Palit is 1% faster than the Suprim X, despite the Rated Boost suggesting the opposite.
