thinkcomputers.org: Lexar SL200 Portable Solid State Drive Review (translate)
    Testbewertung:
    Testbewertung: 70
    Originalwertung: 7/10

Well first off I love super-fast portable storage. It makes transferring files across multiple systems so easy! On top of that little drives like these are great for portable editing drives for both photo and video. Lexar’s SL200 is small, pocketable, comes with both a Type-A and Type-C cable, and even offers 256-bit AES encryption. The speed of the drive is what you would expect from a USB 3.2 gen 1 drive and is quite an upgrade from a normal USB flash drive. So you would think there really is nothing not to like about this drive, then we get to the price which is $159.99. That is only $10 less than Lexar’s own SL100 Pro drive which is twice the speed. Why would you not spend the extra $10 to get twice the speed? I don’t know if this is Lexar thinking people will buy the SL200 instead of the SL100 Pro because they don’t have USB 3.2 gen 2? All of these drives are backwards compatible with slower USB ports so the extra $10 is worth a faster drive and future-proofing for when you might have a system with USB 3.2 gen 2. Lexar is not the only one doing this, the Samsung T5 (USB 3.2 gen 1) is currently $139.99, while the T7 (USB 3.2 gen 2) is $159.99. Many 1TB USB 3.2 gen 2 drives are around the same price as the SL200 including the Sabrent Rocket Nano ($158.99), HP P700 ($149.99), and ADATA SE800 ($129.99). So it is really hard to recommend this drive over those or Lexar’s own SL100 Pro, which is only $10 more. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lexar SL200 Portable Solid State Drive a 7 out of 10 score.

modders-inc.com: Lexar SL200 Portable SSD Review (translate)

The Lexar SL200 is an interesting storage device. Its elegant design and ease of use really do captures the eye. The Lexar SL200 is based on the SSD SATA 3 chipset that offers the performance of an SSD on the go. The SL200 can be connected to smartphones, computers, cars, etc. If you have a USB Type-C connector, you can take advantage of the Lexar’s SL200. While playing around with the device it performs as expected based on the information provided by Lexar. You are getting SSD performance to store your files. The SL200 also offers AES256 encryption of the files via built-in Lexar DataSafe software. DataSafe is easy to use and should not need any explanation as the GUI is very intuitive. Encrypting files do take some time to process but this is expected on any encryption levels. Based on my benchmarks, the SL200 performs as advertised by Lexar. The expected speed of the SL200 should be close to the same as the SSD SATA 3 storage devices. I did find that while transferring large/multiple files to the device you will experience a significant write performance hit.

legitreviews.com: Lexar SL200 1TB Portable SSD Review (translate)

The Lexar SL200 1TB Portable SSD needs a more aggressive price point for what it delivers. If this drive is priced below $130 it would be a much more interesting drive!

    Testbewertung:
    Testbewertung: 74
    Originalwertung: 3.7/5

The Lexar SL200 Portable SSD is a decent storage medium for the typical user that is looking to make regular backups of documents, media and whatnot on a regular basis. Regular backups provide data security and there aren’t many people these days that haven’t lost something for one reason or another on their PC. The SL200 is a great way to have that data security in a very compact and speedy portable SSD. Writing is on the wall for a 2TB release of this SSD but we haven’t seen that just yet. It is small, well built and has a very premium look and feel to it, including a 3-year warranty and security software for your comfort.

techpowerup.com: Lexar SL200 Portable SSD 1 TB Review (translate)

The Lexar SL200 Portable SSD is competitively priced at $120 for the tested 1 TB version, which makes it one of the most affordable USB-C high-speed external drives out there. It is of course more expensive than portable storage based on mechanical hard drives, but the SL200 is much faster. While traditional HDDs reach around 100 MB/s with very high seek times, solid-state storage achieves much better speeds. Another important argument for portable SSDs is that they have no moving parts, which essentially makes them completely immune to shock, vibration, and other physical forms of stress.
