Corsair CX-F RGB Series ATX

I don’t think there are any companies who have embraced the RGB trends more than Corsair has, both with their product lineup which has some of the best RGB fans, RGB lighting for your office, RGB memory, and of course keyboards and mice as well as on the memes side of things as well. Corsair has been on point with RGB memes, embracing it and doing April fools jokes like RGB thermal paste. Even the first gif that pops up on Twitter when you type in RGB is their social media manager with RGB glasses and keyboard. But even with all of that their PSU lineup hasn’t had an RGB model available with the competition doing it years ago. But that changed recently with the Corsair CX-F lineup, and today I’m going to check out the CX750F RGB and see what the new lineup is all about so put on your RGB glasses and get ready!

The unit is all black, but there is also a white variant. Nowadays, it will probably be hidden inside the chassis shroud anyway, so this is not an essential factor. The same applies to the RGB fan used here, or the selling point. In the chassis that I used for the tests (Phanteks Evolv X and 719), there is no way to see the RGB lighting when you’re using the PC. The CX750F RGB offers good acoustics (could have been a bit better at 80%+ load), and decent build quality. The efficiency is even better than it should be according to the standards (80 Plus Silver performance from a PSU rated as 80 Plus Bronze). You also get a 5-year warranty, which is good in this price segment.

Corsair is one of the most recognizable and trusted PC hardware brands around. It is no secret that most people have at least one components of theirs within their system. As such, with the Corsair CX750F coming with a 5-year warranty, although this PSU should last well beyond that remit, it’s a sign of assurance that Corsair believes this power supply has been built to last and based on what we can see, it’s hard to disagree.

There's little to separate the electrical performance of modern computer PSUs, and we have yet to come across one from a big name that doesn't ace the relaxed ATX specifications. Having such homogeny puts manufacturers into a bind as differentiation becomes difficult. Enthusiasts then tend to buy from the brand they trust the most. Corsair mixes the status quo up with the CX-F range by equipping a trio of 80 PLUS Bronze supplies with an RGB fan. Polarising opinion in the office as to whether this is cool or kitsch, what's not in doubt is the solid electrical performance of the CX650F RGB.
