Hinzu kommt ein gutes Overclocking-Potenzial, das von einer gelungenen RGB-Beleuchtung abgerundet wird. Auch bei der Kühlung macht das Hermes RGB DDR5 Kit mit seinen großen Kühlkörpern eine gute Figur. When it comes to build quality, Predator always scores top marks. They’re a premium brand and only make premium products, so it is no surprise to me that the Predator Hermes is a quality product. They hand-pick the ICs for optimal performance such as lower latency, voltage and higher clock speeds, which is what allows them to have kits of up to 8000 MHz in their range. The heatsinks are significant, and while they’re designed to look aesthetically pleasing, they’re very practical too. The larger surface area and thicker aluminium is bonded to the PCB with adhesive and thick thermal padding over the controller and ICs, ensuring they can run at their top speeds without any overheating issues. In fact, it ran cooler than just about every other kit we’ve tested. There’s a 10-layer PCB too, which is more durable, and also allows for more robust contacts and traces, improving the overall signal quality. Of course, all of the above isn’t exactly uncommon in memory these days, rival brands can certainly hold their own in that regard, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the Hermes one bit. When it comes to performance, there’s really nothing to complain about. It’s not the fastest kit in the range, or even the fastest or most expensive I’ve ever tested, but that doesn’t seem to matter much, as they clearly hold their own throughout every single benchmark, be that rendering, daily work or gaming-focused tasks. It was also the most consistent and stable memory I’ve seen for gaming, while other kits vary up and down a lot in different games, this was remarkably consistent.

BIWIN has released quite a few interesting RAM kits under the ACER Predator brand and the Hermes RGB is probably the most interesting one to date. Not only does it climb up to 8GHz (and perhaps even more if they update the lineup later on) but it’s available in 3 different colors and comes ready with its own 40mm cooling fan. Yes, the fan may not be compatible with every motherboard out there and its efficiency is not that great but regardless it’s a plus. As for performance the Predator Hermes RGB does very good even at 6800MHz thanks to its low CAS latency but it does even better at 7200MHz with the same numbers just by increasing voltages to 1.435V (even at 1.45V I couldn’t go any higher, not with the same timings). I was hoping I’d have the 8GHz model here to test and see how it does but that obviously didn’t happen. Worldwide availability has always been a thing with BIWIN products and the same applies for the Predator Hermes RGB 32GB 6800MHz CL32 kit which means I don’t have a valid price I can list (at least not in the USA or the EU - will update with the MSRP later on). Price aside however (obviously important so I do hope BIWIN can do well in that regard) the Predator Hermes RGB kit seems to have it all, performance, good OC potential, looks and even an 40mm cooling fan and for that it gets the Golden Award.
